Scout II Rear Disc Brake Conversion Kit - Rear
Description: Convert your rear drum brakes to disc brakes. This is a bolt on kit, no cutting, welding or modification. Kit includes brackets with bolts, rotors, calipers & hoses. Comes with very detailed directions. When converting to disc brakes in the rear, you are increasing your braking power. Also, when you drive through deep water you will not lose most of your braking. Disc brakes don't really care if they get wet. Kit does not include brake cable. If you would like a new rear brake cable, see part SP12569. Caution: never drive untested brakes on the street. Test them at slow speed. Note: With original wheel studs your rotor will stand off 1/16 of an inch off of the surface of the axle flange. If this is a problem you can use washers to make up the difference or you can replace your wheel studs. A minimum of 12.5" inside diameter wheel. This kit requires that you have an emergency brake system installed because the rear calipers are self-adjusting and require regular engagement of the emergency brake in order to remain functional. Use your original emergency brake cable instead of the ones supplied with the kit. **You may need to specify longer brake hoses if you have a lift kit.
