Scout II EGR Valve - IH V8 Exhaust Gas Recirculator Valve 
Description: If you have a Scout II or pickup with a rough idle and you tap on the EGR valve and it starts to idle well again, that means that your EGR may be sticking open. We have had a handful of Scouts and trucks pass through here with a rough run condition caused by a fouled EGR valve. If your Scout runs poorly when cold, you may want to replace the EGR before rebuilding the carburetor.
