{"id":160,"date":"2011-04-26T17:39:24","date_gmt":"2011-04-26T17:39:24","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/scoutparts.com\/blog\/?p=160"},"modified":"2012-01-10T19:01:01","modified_gmt":"2012-01-10T19:01:01","slug":"international-scout-ii-fuel-filler-tube","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/scoutparts.com\/blog\/international-scout-ii-fuel-filler-tube\/160\/steve","title":{"rendered":"International Scout II fuel filler tube."},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I was filling up my 72 Scout II the other day and I started to smell even more gas than usual. \u00a0I looked around and noticed that Fuel was leaking from up inside the body just about where the fuel filler spout is. \u00a0 It was not a big leak but big enough to make a puddle. \u00a0 when I got home I removed the spare tire \u00a0and opened the access panel. \u00a0It is pretty dirty and hard to see inside there. \u00a0I could see well enough to know that the fuel was leaking just were I though, \u00a0the back side of the <a title=\"Metal Fuel Filler Tube (75-80) - Scout II, Scout II Diesel\" href=\"http:\/\/scoutparts.com\/products\/?view=product&amp;product_id=14255\" target=\"_blank\">fuel filler tube<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>To replace it, I first drove to a car wash with a pressure washer and spent about $3 and jammed that wand up inside that rear quarter panel and washed the heck out of it. \u00a0 Then I let it dry for a couple of days and that made the job a lot easier. \u00a0It was still a dirty job. \u00a0While I was in there I also changed out all of the little rubber tubes that distribute the fuel vapor from the tank to the<a title=\"Fuel Condenser vapor collector recondenser evaporator - available used only - Scout II\" href=\"http:\/\/http:\/\/scoutparts.com\/products\/?view=product&amp;product_id=13877\" target=\"_blank\"> <\/a><a rel=\"attachment wp-att-162\" href=\"http:\/\/scoutparts.com\/blog\/international-scout-ii-fuel-filler-tube\/160\/steve\/vapor-collector\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-162\" src=\"http:\/\/scoutparts.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/04\/vapor-collector-300x199.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"199\" srcset=\"https:\/\/scoutparts.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/04\/vapor-collector-300x199.jpg 300w, https:\/\/scoutparts.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/04\/vapor-collector.jpg 450w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a>vapor collector. \u00a0 After looking at the old broken filler tube, it looks like letting the gas spout hang from the fuel filler tube was the cause.\u00a0<a rel=\"attachment wp-att-161\" href=\"http:\/\/scoutparts.com\/blog\/international-scout-ii-fuel-filler-tube\/160\/steve\/fuel-filler-tube\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-161\" src=\"http:\/\/scoutparts.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/04\/fuel-filler-tube-300x199.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"199\" srcset=\"https:\/\/scoutparts.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/04\/fuel-filler-tube-300x199.jpg 300w, https:\/\/scoutparts.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/04\/fuel-filler-tube.jpg 450w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I was filling up my 72 Scout II the other day and I started to smell even more gas than usual. \u00a0I looked around and noticed that Fuel was leaking from up inside the body just about where the fuel &hellip;
