Directions for installation of heavy duty wipers for International Scout II 1971 to 1980 SP10201<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n You have purchased a heavy duty \u00a0replacement wiper. These are different from the original factory wiper set up. You will need to modify your old arm to make the new wiper arm fit.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Unmodified wiper arm procedure.<\/em><\/p>\n Step One \u2013Lift wiper arm and pull back small retainer tab and remove original wiper.<\/p>\n Step two \u2013. Locate post that the original wiper was attached by. (The post the old wiper was hanging onto.) This post must be removed.\u00a0 You will need to drill it out.\u00a0 The post is really just a long rivet.<\/p>\n Step three \u2013 Locate the end of the rivet that is bent over by the original installation of the rivet.\u00a0 (It will have a small depression in the middle of the rivet.)\u00a0 That end will need to be drilled out.\u00a0 Use a 1\/8th<\/sup>\u201d metal drill bit, or larger.<\/p>\n Step four \u2013 Remove the post from the arm.<\/p>\n Step five \u2013Place the new wiper on the arm and keep it in place with the small nut and bolt included.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Already modified wiper arm procedure.<\/em><\/p>\n Step one \u2013 Remove the small nut and bolt retaining the old wiper.<\/p>\n Step two \u2013 Remove old wiper.<\/p>\n Step three \u2013 Place the new wiper on the arm and keep it in place with the new small nut and bolt included.<\/p>\n Caution:\u00a0 It is not recommended for an untrained person to use any power tools or any sharp or dangerous tools. <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" I just wrote these directions and I am hoping that some one that has installed these and they might give me some feed back on the accuracy. ____________________________________________ Directions for installation of heavy duty wipers for International Scout II 1971 … Continue reading
