{"id":335,"date":"2018-01-31T21:42:43","date_gmt":"2018-01-31T21:42:43","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/scoutparts.com\/blog\/?p=335"},"modified":"2018-02-05T20:41:02","modified_gmt":"2018-02-05T20:41:02","slug":"exhaust-manifold-bolts-that-dont-break","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/scoutparts.com\/blog\/exhaust-manifold-bolts-that-dont-break\/335\/steve","title":{"rendered":"Exhaust Manifold Bolts That Don&#8217;t Break"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I have removed at least 100 International Harvester exhaust manifolds. \u00a0I have never had a exhaust bolt break. \u00a0I was talking with another mechanic that is used to working on all different brands of engine and he was worried about the bolts breaking off in the engine block. Fortunately this does not happen to IH engines because IH used copper clad bolts that somehow are able to prevent the bolt from bonding to the block. It is hard to tell that they are copper clad bolts , because they are only shinny copper colored when brand new.
