Many times I’ve been in the situation of having a gauge that is not working properly on my IH Scout. Often my mind goes to fixing the problem at the source. That usually means fixing the sender or the gauge. What often gets overlooked is the circuit board. The circuit board is responsible for delivery of power and sending information to the gauge from the harness connectors. Most often on a Scout or any other 1970’s International Harvester, the gauge is good and the sender is good, but the breakdown is in the circuit board on the back of the gauge.
Scoutparts.com makes brand new circuit boards. For Speedometer guages, they can be found here. For fuel oil amp temp gauges, They can be found here. If you drive a Travelall, you can find yours here.
