One of my Scouts had an intermittent miss a couple of weeks ago, which tracked back to a burnt distributor cap. All of the 8 cylinder Scouts that have Holley distributors use the same cap, the predecessor to which can be used to hold some Ticonderogas.
Scouts are good at healing them selves. I often drive my Scout around town on 7 cylinders. Give it a little time and the 8th cylinder will heal it’s self and you will be fine.

Distributor caps are apt to crack. The tinies crack will ruin your day. So change your dist. cap about once a year.
